MIRC, in collaboration with Loloata Island Resort and Project Seahorse, is pleased to announce the launch of a photo competition, entitled “Seahorses of Papua New Guinea”. We hope this competition will prove an interesting and fun event for all divers, as well as being a source of good images that MIRC can use for seahorse taxonomy purposes as part of its research into seahorse diversity and distribution within PNG.
The competition starts on October 16, 2006 and ends on April 15, 2007, 12.00 am, Papua New Guinea.
Photographs must have been taken after January 1, 2004. Entrants can submit up to three photographs. Photographs should show at least one seahorse. The seahorse(s) must have been photographed in Papua New Guinea waters. The seahorse(s) should be photographed in its natural habitat.
Photographs can be taken in black & white or colour. Photographs must be supplied in print or in digital format on a CD ROM. Print photographs must be supplied no larger than A3 and no smaller than A5.
Digital photographs must be supplied in high-resolution RAW or TIFF format (minimum of 300 dpi at 5- by-7 inches) on a PC-compatible CD ROM.
